A WILD WEEKEND...

that started first thing Friday morning.

The first half of the weekend involved:
  • licorice (black)
  • new black pants (to match the licorice LOL)
  • funky black flip-flops (shiny and blingy)
  • a heated discussion with a scrapbook convention organizer (sigh...we both compromised)
  • a hilarious phone call with QuicKutz (holy scrap!)
  • a theater performance of Wicked (AMAZING!)
  • two emails too exciting for words (secrets, plans and trips), and
  • a visit from the paramedics at 1:30am (long story)
WHEW!

Since the weekend was going to start so early, and be pretty packed - I pre-blogged Friday's post. You know me, being all organized and detail oriented! {haa haa} I set to publish at some time early-ish in the morning Friday.

I didn't pop back over to the blog for quite some time - late-ish Saturday morning. And the only reason I did was because I hadn't received any comments on the blog post. And you girls ALWAYS leave fun comments on Finished It! Fridays. You're so good about sharing the love!

Well - it appears BLOGGER ate my post! Just up and ignored it, and then destroyed it! It obviously didn't post, I can't find it anywhere and no one is answering my emails at BLOGGER. Soooooo - the rest of the weekend I knew I had to rewrite the post. But what impressed me - no, what blew me away - was no one emailed me to ask "where, when, why". Instead I got several emails with funny jokes about Nebraska, questions about dies on the current sale, video tutorial suggestions and lemon pie stories!

You girls are awesome. Thank you for your patience. Even the girls that sent me their pages this week didn't freak out about where Friday's post was. Trust me - I did enough freaking out for all of us!

So in a "second-attempt-so-it's-gonna-be-a-quick-run-down", here are the Week #20 Scrapy Land Starting Blox pages!

from CATHY:

Loved these pictures when  I saw them. Took me 20 minutes to figure out that they boys are holding squash! FUNNY! I couldn't figure it out...so my mind was spinning! They do look pretty excited about their haul...and love that Cathy found it a memorable moment! Great title - big and little fonts are my fave!!

from GAIL, 3 pages:

What a GREAT idea this is! And old picture and a current picture - scrapped together! SO FUN! Look how cute these little girls are...just adorable! And don't you love her blue hibiscus? Love it, and LOVE the journaling on the hidden tag. Your sister is going to love it!

Is this fun or what? Pictures of a lizard - scrapped with some cute fun flowers! How perfect. Love the tag for her journaling, and her title couldn't be more perfect! Thanks Gail!

And she obviously had her mojo flowing with this Blox...so cute! Spring Gift Set dies, journaling tucked behind the photo and a big chunky title. Gail - great work with week. I just love 'em!

from GEMIEL:

My sweet friend from the Northeast - love your first ever Starting Blox page! Cute title, cute fonts and CUTE goggles on the "O"! Love how you tucked your journaling in on a preprinted tag in the corner. Perfectly fits - and is perfectly adorable! Thanks!

from JENNIFER, four pages:

Jennifer was busy this week. FUN page for one of her favorite boys! Perfect paper choice, and way to go mixing up your fonts! Thanks for sharing Jennifer - we've missed you!

She was also busy catching up on previous week's Blox. She said this sketch really worked for her and all of her Halloween pictures (and YES, these are Mary Beth's kiddos!). LOVE this title, so cute!

More Halloween - shizzled up with one of my favorite Halloween dies! Cuteness!

And with this page - I think she's got Halloween 2008 all wrapped up. Don't you love it when you get your groove on and can just keep it going. Great work Jennifer - thanks for sharing all of them!

from KATHY S.:

Kathy did this awesome page for her daughter - and I LOVE that she picked this font. Mainly because I would never have thought to use Disco, but look how cute it looks tone-on-tone! Thanks for reminding me Kathy - I need to pull this one out and use it! Thanks for sharing your page as well!

from LARA:

I emailed Lara right away and said I was copy her page. Well, not her page per se, but her idea of scrapping your own Senior portraits. LOVE THIS! Honest memories, fun facts, and silly tidbits make for great journaling. Are you up for it? Love it Lara - thanks!

from MARY BETH:

Mary Beth is catching up as well - this is last week's Blox. Too cute to skip - huh? Love these cutsie-patootsie pictures, and how she stamped her own background paper. She said she added the butterflies to cover up her stamping "goofs". What a fun idea! It's like a ban-die-aid! Thanks MB!

from RANDI, 4 pages:

This page is half of the Hawaiian Punch this week - but Jodi is MIA! Cute pictures and just a simple border and fun journaling space and she's done. I LOVE IT! Thanks Randi!

LOVE how she added the small QK Airplane to use as a "pull" for her journaling. How adorable! Some simple BIG letters and a border and this page was in the bag! Love it!

Breaking open the NSD Gift Sets - these dies are great for her pictures. Cute and fun and playful! And again, love the extra little dies on her journaling pull-tag! CUTE!

Love her fonts here and her use of patterned paper for her journaling tag. A pop of pattern is always good - don't you think? Thanks a bunch Randi - great pages!

WHEW - that was 30 minutes of deja vu! Crazy!

Monday starts the awesome QuicKutz Summer of Fun promotion. The first die is available today and is ADORABLE! It's a border die...that's an alphabet! QK String Bean is a skinny font, perfect for journaling, cards or subtitles.

Here are a couple of samples - direct from QuicKutz. Look at those cute letters! This is the QK Tag and I think the String Bean letters look perfect! You could probably fit 7 letters across! Love it!

And even though the font is skinny, it still is workable as a title. Moxie, Rollerskate, Moonlight and Banana Split are all going to look GREAT with these letters!

It is also going to work great with bigger fonts like Diesel, Mary Jane, Blossom and even Journal. So fun! And the price???...WE LOVE YOU QUICKUTZ!

In this summer promotion, a new die will be released each Monday for the next 3 weeks. And consider yourselves warned, because each and every one of them is a must have in my book!

But then, you probably guessed that already!

I have a Starting Blox #21 for you - but I already deleted the original picture of it, and then BLOGGER threw me this wrench. So today I'll reshoot it and post it for you. Warning though - no page from me this week...just the inspiration piece. But trust me - you'll do fine. It's an adorable little Blox! You'll have an extra long deadline this week - since I'll be driving Thursday and Friday and Saturday. BUT there will be a prize this week - as kind of a "thanks for putting up with my vacation" thank you gift!

More details on THAT to follow soon!

Remember the 4x4 sale.
Remember the Summer of Fun promotion.
Remember the check back for Blox #21.
Remember to call your best friend.
Remember to ask me about my teaching schedule starting next month.
Remember that I think you're the best blog-audience ever!

I'm here for your habit...

Great pages everyone! I was so surprised to see this Blog - dated 6/1 but I am reading it on 5/31! Gotta love that time difference!

Susan - hope that 1:30 emergency turned out to be nothing serious! And I hope you're finding time to relax while on "vacation".

Have a good one and looking forward to SB#21!

Yes, sister is MIA; has somewhat good excuses, but I expect her to catch up soon.

Oh Suz--you had a crazy weekend! I'm with Randi in hoping that your emergency call turned out ok. Lots of fun pages this week.

Welcome Gemiel--Cute, cute page. The papers compliment the pictures so well, and I love the goggles on your title. :)

I'll be back to check out Blox 21 (has it really been that many already?). Have a safe journey later this week.

Awesome pages everyone! Loved looking at each one, such wonderful ideas.
Oh Susan, wasn't Wicked fabulous. I saw it on Mother's Day and all I can say is I wish I could go again.
