{I've got nineteen 8th grade basketball players coming for dinner in ten hours...so this will be brief!}

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Scrapy Land LIVE! studio last night. A great turn out for a cute little card project.

Here is what we made {please excuse the slightly crude joke regarding my card...sometimes my mouth works faster than my brain!}...

Here are a couple of pictures of the project I made ahead of time, and the project I made during the show. I added a few things to the class project this morning...

For the golf card I used: Cookie Cutter Golf Set and the Go-Kreate Rome font {which is out of stock, I'm sorry}.

For the car cards I used: Revolution Convertible, the Rev Journaling Block and the Chicken Noodle font.

Inside I used: Revolution Journaling Quote Block and I did my handwritten sentiments with my fave Black Memory Marker {which is on SALE today!}. And Goldie gets credit for the car card sentiment. She mentioned it in the studio last night - - - CUTE!

Here is a side view of both cards. I just wanted to show you a still shot of how the cards stand up. The journaling block inside the card is what holds the card front on place. But you could also use a die-cut border strip, a ribbon and a knot, or even a couple of small brads {thanks for that idea Phyllis!}. Lots of possibilities, and lots of different ways you could make this work.

I got an email late last night from Katie - who had been working right along with the LIVE! show. She already had a completed card to share with me...

LOVE IT! Rounded corners, handwritten words and just a couple of QK Nesting Hearts! Quick and easy - and totally doable!

Thanks for sharing Katie - keep up the great work!

One final picture to show you - and I haven't even asked her permission yet. But I'll hope that she forgives me {wink, wink}.

I got some mail yesterday, from Sweden. And you just have to love a cute, stamped envelope that has foreign postage on it and a piece of bubble wrap inside.

Bubble wrap? YES...bubble wrap! Because when Veronica makes a birthday card - - - she makes a birthday card!

Meet Superstar ~~Susan~~ Anya! This is one of The Greeting Farm stamps coming super-soon to Scrapy Land...and Veronica's girlfriend let her borrow it. WOWZERS, isn't this a gorgeous card! Perfectly showing how die-cuts and stamps can mix beautifully. QK Lamp Post, QK Heart Speech Bubble, QK 2x2 Brackets and a small QK Nesting Circle.

She's also used some other great supplies on their way to Scrapy Land...Liquid Pearls, Ranger Distress Inks and Mini Misters for the sprayed background.

Throw in some Lime Green Copics for Anya's t-shirt {naturally!} and a Stickles covered scarf...and this card is one for the books. LOVE IT Veronica...thanks for sending me some Sweden-birthday-love! KRAM!

A great LIVE! DEMO last night, and a LIVE! CLASS on the schedule for tonight.

of patterned paper, a generic nesting shape of your choice {circle, square, heart, oval}

Okay, I admit, I have stamps and ink on the brain this week. It's the building anticipation I think. Luckily I'm not the only one who is having inky thoughts this week. Look what Jennifer sent me yesterday...

Jennifer has been a fan of "The Greeting Farm" stamps for quite a while. So she was thrilled when Scrapy Land announced that they are "COMING SOON". Holy guacamole are these images adorable.

But this one is my favorite...look at these lime green overalls! {was this intentional JBo?? LOL} So stinkin' cute . Jennifer does a wonderful job with her Copics, and is amassing quite a collection. But then, you can never have too much of a good thing!

The Greeting Farm stamps will be in very soon...I checked with Dani last night. Soon ladies, and you'll be the first to know, I promise!

I just couldn't let all of the shapes and textures I did up last night go to waste. So this morning I made a few cards with the supplies laying in front of me...

I embossed this cardstock last night with the QK Polka Dots folder {love this one, use it all the time!}. This morning I rounded the corners, added some patterned paper scraps, cut my sentiment from the Chicken Noodle font and grabbed my Scalloped Oval Nestabilities.

This image is from Unity Stamps. And they too are COMING SOON! For reals! A couple of quick swashes with some Copics and I was done.

Here are the colors I used...when I'm flying by the seat of my pants early in the morning I tend to use more colors than I normally do. Only because I don't plan...I just start coloring. So don't be shocked by this row of colors. I probably could have eliminated one or two of these if I'd taken a bit more time.

If you're anxious to start collecting The Greeting Farm stamps, you will definitely want to grab an E00 and an E21. These colors are standards for me when coloring skin {DISCLAIMER - I color almost all faces to match my own skin...pasty white Irish girl skin. If you're looking for a more suntanned, olive skinned or less doughy look we'll have to experiment and find different colors for you!}.

I'm ready to start playing with cards. Card show tonight...at least one. Okay, maybe two. Depends on how things pan out the rest of the afternoon. But I think you'll see that the new Flex Mat from QK does work. It's works phenomenally well in fact.

It cuts, it embosses, it cuts competitors, it cuts its own.

I'm in love *swoon* with my Epic this week. FINALLY! Seriously, completely, totally in love!

Please remember - when you start using competitor's dies it's all about "slow and steady". If a technique I've suggested feels too tough to turn...STOP. My Epic Six is 4 days out of the box. My November Epic worked a little differently.

Well I love 'em...and I get to share it with you in just a couple of days. On Super Bowl Sunday. On birthday Sunday. In four more days!

{you're going to love it - just trust me on this one - and relax it doesn't involve shopping!}

Hey - it's Wednesday. "Hump-Day" if you will. WOOT WOOT...how about a little more inspiration today?

A little die-cutting, inky-stamping, lovey-dovey inspiration!

Lolly is already in the Valentine spirit, and is cranking out some beautimous cards...

Lolly just received this QuicKutz Butterfly die and is IN LOVE with it. {Rumor has it she has covered an entire bedroom wall, filled three nightstand drawers and decoupaged her refrigerator!} She decided to make up a few Valentine cards that weren't necessarily heart-filled or predominantly red...and I LOVE THEM! She used the butterfly, the smallest Nesting Label from the Santa's Workshop Gift Set and the Oatmeal font.

Here is the same card "layout", but she changed up the colors, the patterns and the supplies. She used the same QK Butterfly and the Nesting Label...but she cut the label out of thin cotton batting. CUTENESS! What a fun little backdrop for her turquoise-blingy flutterby! Fun, fun, FUN!

EmmBee is also working on Valentine cards, but with her little girlies. This idea she came up with is perfect for young ones. They can do the assembling all by themselves! She used the Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Heart die {the third largest heart cut twice, the smallest heart cut three times}. A couple of circle punches, for the eyeballs and they were all set. Teach your kiddos how to set-up an assembly line...and you photograph the fun! {The font she used is a Sizzlits Strip called Honky Dory}

Here is one more kiddo-approved card. Cut your card bases from the Spellbinders Labels Eight - folding your cardstock in half first, and keeping the fold inside the left hand cut line. VIOLA - a shaped card. Then use your Spellbinders Classic Hearts again, the QK Lemonade font for size-appropriate letters and any 2x2 QK Heart and let your young spellers go to town. LOVE 'EM...just love 'em!

Lara wanted to throw out one more idea using the January QuicKutz release. She made up a bunch of invitations and decided on a mass-production style. This means, she printed her information onto cardstock from the computer and simply added a die-cut as a finishing touch. She used the NEW Alarm Clock {I think it's one of her faves!}.

And when I say she mass produced them, I mean mass produced...

She said it was great using up a bunch of scraps for this project, and no two are the same. Each person got a unique invite...and she was done with the project before she knew it! BRILLIANT!

I've been chatting with several of you about my excitement with the new stamp lines Dani is bringing to Scrapy Land. But have no fear ladies...I love die-cutting as much as I love stamping. I'm not giving up one for the other. The thing I love about the lines he ordered is I think they mix so well with shapes in the QuicKutz line and Nestabilities in the Spellbinders line. They work wonderfully hand-in-hand.

I used "Mer Ian" from The Greeting Farm {the cutest little merman I've ever seen!}, colored him with bunches of Copics {I will get better about photographing the stack of colors I use, I promise!}, cut him out with my Deckled Rectangle Nestabilities, tossed on a starfish and seashell from the Relax NSD Gift Set and added my sentiment with Oatmeal and Moxie.

This translates to "see you later". Had to get "sea" in there, and used a little teen-talk for my daughter. This got tucked in her suitcase this morning as she heads out of town for 3 days.

DAY TWO OF MY WEEK LONG CELEBRATION...

Today, the "Fab Four" have some fun stuff to share. Lots of dies being used from the QuicKutz January release. And since bunches of you placed orders on the 19th I'm sure there are dies all over the country, just waiting to be used!

How's this for some inspiration...

Veronica is working on an album of favorite recipes. Something she can add to, a few pages at a time, when she gets the opportunity. She is using the QK Gingerbread Album. This page is her recipe for Peanut Sauce...{and yes, I already tried to decipher the ingredients, she'll have to help us out!}...she used the NEW QK Food & Drink die for her bowl of rice and chopsticks. CUTE! Her title is cut from the Chicken Noodle font.

This page is for her secret recipe for Orange Lemonade. She's used the Food & Drink die again for her bottle and the NEW Citrus Fruit for her lemon. Her title is Chicken Noodle again, and her very realistic looking orange blossoms are the 2x2 Square Petal Flowers. LOVE IT!

EmmBee had the January Club Die to play with and came up with this adorable use for it. Computer generated letters spell out part of her greeting. ADORABLE! She also used her Cookie Cutter Monogram U for the main part of her greeting. It's embossed with the QK Paisley Embossing folder. Love, love love how simple this is - unique twists are always fun and inspiring!

Lara is still motoring through her resolutions for this year. YOU GO GIRL! She made a notebook to hold her exercise journal and her food journal. For this section of her book she used the NEW Rev Alarm Clock, the NEW Rev Weights, Blossom Classic, Blossom Mini and Banana Split fonts. Great little stitching accents make the page all come together! CUTE!

For the food/diet section of her book she made this page. Using the same fonts along with the NEW Rev Scale and the 2x2 Strawberry, Peas, Carrots and Pear.

Love her project. How cute it is, how practical it is and how useful it's going to be for her as she goes through her year! She bound her entire album, divider pages and custom pages, with her Bind It All. {I have got to get one of these...!}

What's that spell?

WOOT WOOT - it spells Blox. As in Scrapy Land Starting Blox.

Today is February 1st. And while February is my favorite month of the year, it's also the shortest month of the year. This means we can't waste any more time!

So the Scrapy Land Starting Blox are back on track, as of today.

{and the crowd goes wild!}

I will post the Starting Blox on the 1st and the 15th of each month. If you're going to play along this year {oh please, oh please, oh pretty puhleeze!} your pages will be "due" three days before the next one is released.

{HUH?} That sounds confusing, even to me!

To kick off the 2010 Starting Blox - I responded to a scrap-dare. Actually, it was a double-dog scrap-dare. Issued by a group of blog-readers who wanted to see me use more shaped die-cuts on a scrapbook page.

I'm always up for a dare, so thanks ladies! YES, I do tend to use mainly borders and fonts on scrapbook pages, while saving shapes for cards and packaging. But I knew this was a dare I could handle. Let me know what you think {wink, wink}.

Four small pictures {2.5"x 3.5"} with plenty of room for die-cuts, borders and a longish or biggish title. Break out some of your favorite patterned papers, because lots of it is going to show with this layout.

I kind of cheated, because I used the NEW QK Months border as my title. But I've decided that I like it so much I'm going to do a page just like it for every month this year. I only have to rearrange my border to keep the new month in the center!

I also used the QK Bracket border and the QK Hearts border. But then I got die-cut happy and added some shapes on top of the Hearts border. Yessiree, double-dog scrap-dare DONE!

I used these 2x2s: Paint Bucket {for base of sushi roll}, the retired Bottle Caps {for the top of the roll}, Pin Cushion {for pile of rice}, Pet Food {for wasabi}, Party Hats, Love Birds {for the orange hearts}, Nesting Circles {for green M&Ms}, 4x8 Moonlight {for the "m"} and the Revolution Wedding Ring.

I also used the Nesting Circles to take a chunk out of each picture, and for a smaller circle journaling spot.

WHEW! How'd I do scrappy dare-ers?

If someone dared you - what could you accomplish? Could you scrap a picture of yourself? Could you document a not-so-good memory? Could you use a 15 year old picture? Kind of an interesting thought, isn't it.

Today starts my birthday week {birthdays are 7-day celebrations in my house}...so I'm celebrating by giving YOU some gifts.

The problem with coming home from CHA is all I want to do is play. Because the "mojo" is flowing!

New stamps. New paper. New dies. New ideas. New techniques. New friends. New pictures. OH MY!

{I need all of you all tell my family that clean clothes and food is highly overrated - LOL!}

I spotted this stamp line on Saturday afternoon, during CHA setup. I knew right away that all of my "Copic-lovin'-Scrapy-Land-Divas" would just love it. It's called "The Greeting Farm" and the images are cuter-than-cute.

I met the artist and their head designer...such sweet girls. We chatted for a long time, heard some fun stories and shared ideas. LOVE new companies that are so anxious to know their customers.

When I let the "Fab Four" know that The Greeting Farm was heading to Scrapy Land - Veronica squealed. She already has one of their stamps and can't wait to get more. She whipped up a sample for me to share with you.

Meet Anya and Ian. These little cuties will soon be available in lots of different outfits, settings and activities. And wait until you see the great Scrapy Land prices! {Think single-digits!}

Veronica used her Greeting Farm happy couple stamp and colored it with a handful of Copics. She cut it out with her Spellbinders Labels 1 and layered her ribbon and patterned paper under that shape.

But I think her pop-dots totally put the polish on her card. I just love using pop dots on cards like this. Makes the colored image just scream "look at me"! Adorable, just adorable.

She finished the inside of her card with white cardstock, another stamped image and her handwritten sentiment.

And look how she completes the backs of her favorite cards. A matching hunk of paper, a computer generated tag-line and a shape cut from her QK Nesting Label. What a sweet idea. Do you all "sign" your works of art? I think we all should!

Thanks Veronica, the fact that you already love The Greeting Farm just validates the decision to carry all of the Anya and Ian stamps. WOOT WOOT - I can't wait for them to arrive in a week or so!

Monday is the first day of February. And those of you who were around last February will remember that it's my favorite month.

It's my birthday month.

It's my anniversary month.

It's Valentine's month.

The January craziness is behind us - the Fab Four are in full swing - we've nailed down some schedules and routines - and a great month is in store.

we were both exhausted.

But our brains were full of ideas, projects, videos, new lines, new companies, fun subjects and awesome scrapbook projects.

Okay wait - that was my brain.

Dani's brain was a bit jet-lagged and as he stood there listening to me babble about stamps and Cricuts and cutting platforms and dies...I think there was an eye-roll or two!

And while this picture makes it look like I am taller than Dani - I promise you I am not. I was wearing 4" stilettos all day yesterday and only *appear* taller than him. {LOL}

I have showed Dani a couple of cute, cute, cute lines. I'll post some pictures today! I keep dragging him to other booths and pointing! There might have been some little dances of glee in the Ranger booth - but I promised Dani I wouldn't post that video of him! It's for Rose only! {LOL}

We're having a great time, but we are working. I'm working hard, Dani is working harder. And he keeps looking at me asking, "What do the Divas want?"

oh my scrap...the new Cricut cuts FONDANT! from any cartridge...yummmm-eeee!

Okay - this is a BRAND NEW Cricut machine. It's bright red and it's gorgeous. The machine cuts fondant frosting and gum paste. Their make-n-take project was cuppy cakes. They cut out a scalloped chocolate cuppy cake "round topper" that let us frost the cake in 2 seconds. Then a white gum paste flower was cut out.

OH WOW...the possibilities are endless. Any Cricut cartridge you have will work in this new Cricut - the samples they showed were mind boggling. I'll get some more pictures today...wedding cakes, birthday cakes, fonts and words...images and borders.

What WILL they think of next?

cha-cha-cha! Three, four...cha-cha-cha!

Okay, so we're a bit punchy from lack of sleep and bad hotel coffee...but our day of work starts today!

I have a list of the things you want pictures of. I will remind Dani of the items you'd like Scrapy Land to start carrying. I'll be doing everything in my power to get pictures and info on the blood during the day.

But I noticed yesterday that my cell-reception was spotty inside the show floor. Verizon doesn't usually fail me, so I'm hoping for different results today. Luckily, there is also an internet cafe on the floor that I can hop on.

Lots of news to share about the eClips from Sizzix...and some cuter-than-cute news about the Slice.

You know me - and probably guessed that I'm JAZZED about the QK CHA release. HOLY SCRAP...the Edges are my most favorite! But the fonts are a close-second fave! {English Rose...ohhhhh mmmmyyy!}

I have a girlfriend flying in today {she's hanging with me at CHA...shhhhh...her husband thinks she's "working"!} so I'm watching the airport closing information. So far so good, but the rain is due back in a couple of hours. I have to keep reminding myself..."Arizona?"!

Dani just started a new thread on the Scrapy Land Message Board. He's asking for suggestions on what YOU ALL want to see him come home with from CHA. New products? New ideas? New lines? New concepts? Leave your suggestion over there on the board, and we'll keep checking back. It's always fun to know what kinds of things, besides dies, you all love using in your projects! THANKS! {And I'll try to keep you posted on what he's looking at!}

Our recently-missing "Fab Four", Miss Veronica, is finally back from her ski vacation. She arrived home to find her box of dies from the January Resolutions release. What a great way to end a vacation, huh?

She jumped right in and made a couple of projects for me to share with you. {Scrappin' before vacation laundry? Now THAT'S a dedicated gal, I tell you! *Wink, wink*}

One of the dies Veronica was most excited about was the NEW Revolution Apples. She liked how very realistic they are. Her photograph of the apple blooms is just gorgeous, and the apple accents are perfect!

Here's a close-up of her embellished apples - chalk and ink and her famous white pen - that look good enough to eat! She also used QK Marigold, for her title font.

This card just makes me smile. "Spoil yourself silly..." what a perfect sentiment for the NEW Revolution Spa Paper Doll. Do you recognize the shape of her "background" paper? It's the QK Epic Gingerbread page insert from the Santa's Workshop release last December. What a great idea!

But check out the inside of her card...

She cut this with her Silhouette SD, from a file she downloaded from Silhouette America. WOWZERS! What a fun way to add the greeting to your card. And to combine it with a die-cut outside...just fabulous!

Such great ideas. Thanks Veronica for ripping open that box as soon as you got home!

48 HOURS SINCE THE RELEASE...

and January's "Resolution 2010" dies are flying off the shelf.

The Door Knob Hanger is HOT!
The Cookie Cutter Borders are even HOTTER!
The Rooster and Runners are IN DEMAND!
And everyone is clamoring for the Garden Font.

But while all of you shopped Tuesday and Wednesday - I mopped up water. I soaked up water. I blotted at water. I am drowning in the desert, and water is still coming down.

The other thing coming down around here is citrus. Because of the 48-hour downpour we've had, and the high winds, our trees are losing fruit by the bushel. I have the only lemon tree on our cul-de-sac, so this morning during a 5-minute rain stoppage, I ran outside and filled 2 laundry baskets with downed lemons. Today I'm going to distribute them to my neighbors.

Kind of a "day brightener" during our third day of cold and gloom.

But of course - I needed cards to go with my "sunshine" baskets. {It's almost a rule in my neighborhood - LOL!}

I made these square blue cards for the outside of the grocery bags I will put the lemons in. Each tag is going in a clear envelope first. Because, you know, it's still raining!

I used the NEW Revolution Sun and the Garden 4x8 font...I just LOVE this font.

Then I made up a couple of these cards for inside the bags, for my immediate neighbors...

The inside of the card says "...we didn't all plant lemon trees!" {Okay, and I might include my recipe for Lemon Drop Martinis!}

I used the NEW Revolution Citrus Fruit...which could be lemons, oranges, limes OR grapefruit...and the Sticky Note 4x8 font. I cut the card base using my new favorite Spellbinders Nestabilities, the Large Deckled Mega Rectangle.

For the card base I folded a 4"x 12" piece of cardstock in half, and laid the fold line just inside the top edge of the largest die. I ran it through my Epic Six and VIOLA - a cut AND slightly embossed card blank. Fast and easy...and pretty darn cute I think!

Today I'm packing for CHA, making up snack bags for the basketball team, figuring out if you can dry clean a lamb {LOL}, trying to prep meals for my family AND delivering lemons. All in the rain. I should definitely take some pictures, because these are the days I love remembering!

ONE MORE POST ON RESOLUTIONS...

since that is the theme for the January release from QuicKutz.

Resolutions - a perfect theme for January. But not just resolutions are addressed. There are a few dies that could fall into categories like goals, to-dos, should-dos, and dreams.

The Scrapy Land "Fab Four" and I have been working with these dies for several days now. And you've probably guessed that we love them all. But everyone picked a couple of their favorites to start with - so let's dive right in:

EmmBee was most excited when she saw the newest QK Cookie Cutter Shape...

the Rooster! It's not because she lives near a farm, it's because she and her friends and family are ALL addicted to Farmville on Facebook. What a riot! But since it's part of her life right now, she saw this die and decided a page was in order! She also used - the retired QK Star Classic and Mini fonts, and 2x2s Present, Cat, Seed Packet, Sheep, Tulip, Funky Chicken, Strawberry, Cow, Tomato and Penguin. The "fence pieces" that come with this die could easily be formed to also make a T, a L, an E, a M, an N, an H, an I, or a K. What a cute idea!

Lolly was most excited about the newest QK Revolution Tags.

I looked at them and saw "more tags". Lolly looked at them and saw NEW TAGS! Here she wanted to just show you the size - as all four tags are on one die. But she also sent some closer peeks at her bitty tags of fun...

Using patterned paper, vellum, decorative scissors and stamped sentiments - she made up stacks of cute tags to include on goodie bags, in cards, oh backpacks or on edible treats! Don't these look just like cuppy-cakes?

And look at the lime green hearts {she catches on quick, doesn't she?}. How much fun can one person have with one little tag...

LOTS! See how she snipped the green tag to reveal little wedges of the brown cardstock underneath. CUTENESS! All kinds of cute ideas...just from tags.

When Lara saw this next die she said she knew exactly what to do with it...

She is helping to organize a "Spa Day" for her MOPs Group at church this Friday. Her contribution to the decorations...table cards! She used the NEW Revolution Bathtub, Wintergreen Scalloped Page Inserts, Santa's Workshop font along with her C3 and C5 Copics for the tub feet and shower head. E47 also colored her die-cut letters. The moms are going to love these!

I wanted to make sure that the Revolution Paper Doll fit inside the NEW Revolution Bathtub die. It does! I also used the NEW Revolution Spa Paper Doll and the NEW 2x2 Water Bottle. The letters are cut from the NEW 4x8 Garden Mini font.

EmmBee also chose to play with this DoubleKutz die...

the NEW Revolution Tea Set. {Wow this is a cute die, with lots of possibilities. I think they'd make the cutest invitations for a bridal shower.} EmmBee cut her tea bag from QK Adhesive Backed Vellum, and colored the "tea" with her E47 Copic. Gives the vellum a great, sheer look! She embossed her tea set with the Perfectly Paisley Embossing folder. Love how this looks! The font here is QK Sticky Note.

I told you Lolly loved the NEW Revolution Tags...

here she used the triangle tag from the set, added the NEW Garden font, and had an adorable little "love banner" for her husband. I've now got Valentine's Day ideas tumbling through my head. Thanks Lolly!

One of my resolutions this year is to better drinking water. My goal is 6 refills a day of this sized bottle. The NEW Cookie Cutter Door Hanger is perfectly sized to be a bottle neck tag...

I cut my letters and numbers from the NEW Garden font. All I have to do now is keep track each day of my "refills". This one tag lasted me all last week...and I was relatively successful in my water consumption goal! {LOL}

Lara also got to play with these dies...

the NEW Revolution Scale and the Revolution Weights. She cut her scale from QK Adhesive Backed Metal and embossed it with this folder. Love the look it gives! The fonts she used are QK Sticky Note and QK Chemistry.

Do you remember the pop-up card we did last November? Well EmmBee turned that simple pattern into a cute birthday card...

She printed her sentiments from the computer and used the NEW Revolution Cruise Ship & Waves. She added a teeny-tiny "HB" for her happy birthday ship with Studio SkinniMini - but the ship could be personalized with anything appropriate. CUTE CUTE CUTE!

Here's a front-on look so you can see how cute this ship is. Love the double-cut waves she added. Just love it!

This piece is from Lolly. And we've just changed her name to "flower-die-cutting-crazy-woman". Holy SCRAP! She cut 1.4 million Sizzix Flowers!

She made the base of her "calendar" out of a magnetic vent cover...{sound familiar??}. She made herself a window frame from chipboard, made a sleeve that can house whatever patterned paper is seasonally appropriate {teal wood grain paper is seasonally appropriate right now!} and then used all of the flowers to decorate the edges of the frame. But her centerpiece is the NEW Cookie Cutter Border Months of the Year. Hers is die-cut, and then she just free-cut a border around the shape. She put magnets on the back of her border die-cut...and then cut out all of the dates from the NEW Garden font. {she also possibly used this flower, and these flowers...LOL!}

All of those calendar dates are housed in this tiny little matchbox...

The dates again were die-cut and she hand-cut their border. More magnets and any kiddo you know can officially be the "family date changer" at breakfast each morning. What a fun idea!

And just to give you a better feel for the size of this border, Lolly sent this picture...

It's huge, and I am sure you'll find 1001 uses for it. A monthly collage of random photos, a fave photo of the month, a reminder of a "family night" once a month...all kinds of great stuff. If you've got on, feel free to share it!

Lara made one final card today, getting a start on her Valentine's cards...

she used the NEW Revolution Credit Cards, QK Banana Split, the 2x2 Hearts Mini and her Scalloped Border. Couldn't these be personalized a bunch of ways? How about using them for "coupons" for your kids or your husband. Great idea Lara, thanks!

I loved the NEW Revolution Apples as soon as I saw them...

This card went together in about 10 minutes. I used the NEW Apples, the Spellbinders Label Three and the Garden font.

And to show you a close-up of this NEW font, that it seems we all love...

it is a unicase font, but it has numbers and punctuation. Love that...thanks QK!

One more project tonight - and I'll save the final few for later tomorrow. I just have to show you how I've been using the NEW Days of the Week border.

My kids share a bathroom - but each have their own sink. They are forever standing at their sinks in the morning arguing over the "car schedule". Who is going where, what time is pickup, who gets dropped off where, etc. I hit on this idea when I opened this die.

I cut the Days of the Week border from Navy Blue Silhouette Vinyl, and stuck it to the mirror inbetween their sinks. With a write-on-wipe-off marker {that now resides in their toothbrush cup} they can easily see who is doing what today. Love this idea, and the best part is...so did my kids! Seriously, try it. Writing on the bathroom mirror - it's a good thing!

WHEW and double WHEW! Does that give you some ideas to go on? I sure hope so. We've had a bunch of fun with these dies, and the fun has only begun. Look for further inspiration, suggestions and tips in the weeks to come.

OUR RESOLUTION WRAP-UP...

And YES, I know today is the 18th of January.

But I believe we're allowed to tweak, perfect, elaborate and revise our goals for the new year all January long. It makes sense, don't you think? Thirty-one days to plan out the next 334. {LOL!}

So Lolly took her "2010 Resolution" assignment, and decided to turn it into more of a monthly journey. A journey to fun, crafty adventures. To do this she took a chipboard album and covered the front and back...plus one interior page.

For now, check out some pictures, and I'll walk you through what she did:

First of all, she embellished the H-E-double-hockey-sticks out of her front cover. She covered the chipboard with quilt batting and then went to town with anything she could find in teal and lime green. Chipboard swirls, patterned papers and supplies to make up some cuter-than-cute individual flowers. COOL STUFF!

For her "2010" title she used the Label from the Santa's Workshop and embellished the title with a Sizzix Butterfly. To make the butterfly "pop" she simply die-cut two of them, stapled them to each other along their spine and covered the staples with some adhesive backed pearls. FUN IDEA!

{I'm going to try and talk Lolly into showing us how to make these flowers. Don't you think that'd be a fun idea? Ohhhhh Lolly.....}

Okay, but moving to the inside of her mini-album...

She covered the insides of her chipboard covers with paper, fabric and other cute accents. She used the Spellbinders Label Three set quite a bit...she said it's one of her fave dies. She used some Thickers from her stash to personalize her book, but this font is just exactly like QK Studio. Such a great classic font!

On the first page in her album, she made space for a "monthly mini album". This will be added to, the first day of each month. She's already half way into her January album-lette, and is in love with the process. Here she used her Sugarplum Mini Album Bundle. And you'll never guess what she cut most of her pages from...brown paper lunch sacks! I love it! Perfect for sketching, punching, tearing, altering and doing samples on. How fun!

You can see here that she filled her January album to capacity, using only the squared pages. Decorated and embellished and ready to go - this is soon to be full of "Lolly craft-isms". She explained to me that she plans to create a new "page" the first of each month so she has a place to document fun stuff for the month ahead. That's her actual resolution. Being organized, being prepared and documenting so nothing is forgotten. I love the concept!

{Edited To Add - I forgot to point out that she used her Spellbinders Labels Three to cut a felt spine for her mini album...so fun! She cut the felt piece first, then laid it inside the Sugarplum album die to get the holes and the perforated lines. She made her own spine! She said she "felt" so clever!}

Here she is showing off just a couple of her first pages for the month. New die purchases, new punch shapes, color combos, sketch ideas...it will ALL go in this little January album. She thinks it is going to be fun to go back and look through the whole year, as she documents her favorite techniques, papers and die-cuts.

See how she put some vellum pages in over some of the kraft pages...love the look it gives. Soft and subtle...but still totally usable!

For the back cover Lolly used her Santa's Workshop Label again, along with the Santa's Workshop font.

An awesome project - that starts off with just one page. But as the year moves on this teal-beauty will get fuller and fatter, thicker and more inspiring. I envision it, a year from now, full of snippets and scraps, hunks hanging out and tid-bits tucked in. {Lolly - you'll show us some pictures come July...won't you?}

In fact - I think we'll have to have a "June Resolution Check-In" and see how the "Fab Four" is doing on their goals, their progress and the personal challenges. GOOD STUFF!

MOVING RIGHT ALONG...

to our first full on project.

The first of the "Fab Four" overachievers! {LOL}

EmmBee worked long and hard on this little project. Which, in my book, means she has either a greater chance of achieving her resolution OR just has more scraps of cardstock to use up.

KIDDING!

She just took a different route. A more methodical and monthly approach to goals for 2010!

She use the Gingerbread Album Set as her starting point, pages and pockets. On her front page she used QK Diesel, QK Chicken Noodle, Chemistry, Holiday and Katie Grand. Love how the cover says EXACTLY what is under the cover. 2010...that's it. Plain and simple. {But you know me, I also love the mix of fonts!}

This is the page where she spells out her goals. She didn't like calling them resolutions. Goals made her happier. Here she used Jacqueline, 2x2 Football and a goal post made from the Heritage Set from the Santa's Workshop release. {Get it? Goals! CUTE!}

Then she simply went through the months. In January she lists another specific project - cooking with new recipes. But then she INCLUDED THE RECIPE! What a great idea. QK Calendar Die set {it's out of stock, but check back soon!}, Holiday Cookie Cutters, Recipe Die set and Chicken Noodle.

Her February pocket page is for her check lists...to document how many scrapbook pages she gets done. It also has a list of birthdays and a list for her walk times. She's planning to write her weight on the calendar pages. She also adds in birthday candle die-cuts on birth dates of family and friends. Hopefully helping to accomplish another one of 2010 goals! She used 2x2 Lips, 2x2 Vote, Oatmeal and Cookie Cutter Love set.

March continues on with pockets. Pockets she hopes to fill up with more recipes, more notes and more walking records! Dies used here include Cookie Cutter Spring and Cookie Cutter Flowers.

April is a very bright month, here EmmBee used Cookie Cutter Spring Set and the 2x2 Retired Easter Basket. Love how she put the die on the date of an event if it applied. {Visual reminders must work well in her family too!}

In May she has a busy month. Holidays and birthdays galore. She used 2x2 Candle, 2x2 Shooting Star, 2x2 Sun, and a whole bunch of blingy cardstock!

Now I could keep going, but this would end up being the longest post in Scrapy Land blog history. Instead here is an overall shot of the 12 month mini goal album...

The last few dies she used include: 2x2 Fireworks, 2x2 Open Book, 2x2 Boo, 2x2 Candy, 2x2 Bats, 2x2 Cornucopia, 2x2 manger, 2x2 Christmas Tree and the Sticky Note font.

EmmBee told me that she went through almost an entire glue pen on this one project. It's lots of pieces and lots of parts. But what a great finished project. I think it would be fun to add in a self-portrait to each month's pocket to track progress through the year. GO EMMBEE!

SCRAPY LAND'S "FAB FOUR"...

Resolutions projects - day two.

And today is Lara's turn.

Lara also decided to make a scrapbook page to showcase her 2010 Resolutions. She tweaked it just a bit by making them more goal-like instead of resolve-like.

I love it!

Lara decided "baby steps" would be best for 2010. {I tend to agree with her} We just need to make sure she knows that her first quarter goals will need to be done by the end of March, not the end of April - LOL! {Sorry hon, couldn't resist!}

Love the layers on this page...clouds and flowers and vines and journaling. Super dimension and lots of interest for the eye. She used: QK Yogurt (2010), QK Aquarius (did I miss 2009?), Cloud border, Vine border with some Green Copic shading, Revolution Flower and an Exclusive "sparkle" for her flower centers, but these snowflakes would give you kind of a similar look!

Here is close-up peek at how she cut her QK Vine from medium colored green, but then amped it up a bit with some darker green Copic inks. Love the depth it gives the shadows of this vine. And what a great technique to leave the centers of the leaves in the center. Looks fab!

And did you notice that she cut out multiple QK Cloud borders? Some go one way, and some go the other way...but she used my little "edge rolling" tip that I showed you back in December. It makes all the clouds look "right side up". Each cloud she edged with pen-stitches drawn with her American Crafts Memory Markers {in Cherry Red, Chestnut Brown and Marine Blue}.

As for her journaling...

she did this on her computer, easy enough. But what I love is how she put the blue "mat" behind one of the cloud borders and tucked her journaling behind a different cloud border. LOVE those kinds of fun layers tricks. Looks great and makes things not quite so "expected". ADORABLE!

So those are our two Resolution "pages". Thanks Veronica and Lara. Great pages indeed. And it looks like we can expect a "quarterly update page" from Lara come April. {or May, if we go by her quarters!! LOL...again, couldn't resist!} The next two posts will be projects. EmmBee and Lolly were up to their elbows - die-cutting, coloring, inking and gluing. Seriously - prepare to be inspired by some more great ideas.

after a magnificent Monday. You just have to love weeks like this.

I had so much fun going through the last four blog posts and reading all of the comment-love you offered up for the "Scrapy Land Fab Four". You are all so darn sweet!

I have the girls furiously scrappin' on their first assignment. Veronica, however, had to work on hers really quickly because she's off on a vacation. And ho-hum {sigh}, she and her house full of boys went skiing...in Switzerland. Or Norway, or Finland...or something like that. Some exotic-sounding destination that's much easier to reach if you live in Sweden vs. Arizona!

Anyway - she got her project to me last weekend, so I thought I'd share hers first.

The assignment I gave the "Fab Four" was New Year's Resolutions. I didn't give them any other guidelines. I just told them to "make something that represents your goals for 2010".

And WOW, did they!

Feast your eyes on Veronica's "Resolution Project"...

Veronica's goal for 2010 is pretty straight forward...AND in English! She hopes to take it easy, relax and have fun. {See the paragraph up top - she's skiing in a foreign country - NUFF SAID!}

Love this page, love her take on color and randomness and pulling different elements together. She used: QK Miss Muffet (take it easy), QK Oatmeal (relax), QK Central Park (&) and QK Katie Grand (have fun}, Rainbow & Cloud (large cloud) and the 2x2 Cloud. With her Silhouette SD, Veronica cut the two large "labels" (brown patterned and white cardstock), and she used the Print & Cut feature to make the orange happiness label tab and the "living in the moments" quote. Her little birdcages are just images cut from patterned paper.

Is this a cute page or what? So many different elements. Makes me want to break out the Silhouette SD tonight and fire up a little "Print & Cut" work myself!

And since I've gotten emails from so many of you - wondering where "I" have been...I thought it was time for some "Susan scrappin' ". 2010 is starting out just a wee-bit on the rough side here at home, so I haven't had tons of time to spend on paper and adhesive. I appreciate your understanding, I appreciate your emails...and I especially appreciate the "Fab Four" right now.

This page went together so quickly. I think I'm officially addicted to doing the Starting Blox pages after the fact...so easy!

Here I used: QK Oatmeal, QK Mary Jane and QK Hearts border. Since I used 3 wild patterned papers I didn't feel the need for additional die-cuts. But you will likely see this Blox in the future, used with solid cardstock. Look for shaped die-cuts then!

I thought I should also share the thank you cards I made for some of our Christmas visitors.

During Christmas we had so many people sleeping under one roof that we started jokingly referring to our house as "Camp Keuter". Kids on hide-a-beds, grandparents in kids beds, boys in sleeping bags...it was crazy {but wildly fun!}. Because of this, I figured the thank you notes should go out from all of us here at "the camp".

I used only dies for this card front: QK Starry Night border, QK Cloud border, QK Tree border and the NEW QK Tent.

Inside the card I used: QK Teriyaki, and the NEW QK Sign Post.

Quick and easy - and with the sign post it is even customizable!

Just a couple of things I've done in the last few days! What I haven't done yet is my own Resolution page.

The "Fab Four" is ahead of me in this department!

Please let Veronica know that we all love her page. And we admire her simple, achievable goals for 2010. {How come I have "lose 10 pounds" on my resolution list, and she doesn't? I hate it when that happens!}

the fourth member of the Scrapy Land "Fab Four", Mary Beth...

I was supposed to introduce you to "MB" yesterday, but we had a bit of a crisis here in Arizona. I had to take care of things here locally, and decided just to let the day pass without blogging.

But today is a different story {AMEN}. And MB is due a proper introduction. So here are her answers to the same questions the other girls have had:

NAME: Mary Beth

NICKNAMES: MB (it doesn't just mean "Message Board")

HOME TOWN: Greer, SC

FAMILY: one husband, one 7 1/2 year old daughter who is smart and sassy (I hate and love it when she uses logic against me in a discussion!) and one 5 1/2 year old adventurous, adorable girlie! They all keep me too busy for any pets at this point!

STARTED SCRAPPIN': shortly after my oldest daughter was born - I was afraid that in my sleep-deprived state I would forget too many details!

EARLY BIRD OR NIGHT OWL: definitely a night owl! "Good Morning" is an oxymoron to me! :)

FAVORITE SCRAPBOOK SUPPLY: removable Scotch Tape and Zig Glue Pen (they DO count as one!!)

ITALY OR THE CARIBBEAN: the Caribbean with LOTS of suntan lotion!

PAPER OR PLASTIC: paper if you are talking supplies, plastic if you are talking payment method - I don't think Dani takes cash or checks!

COKE OR PEPSI: only Cherry Coke for me!

FAVORITE COLOR: I really like all colors of the rainbow, the brighter the better! but I am trying to branch out and use more neutrals

SCRAP-LIFTER: if being addicted to the Starting Blox is being a scrap-lifter, then YES, count me as one! But I do like taking someone else's idea or technique and giving it a twist or turn.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU FOUND $100, OTHER THAN BUY SCRAP-SUPPLIES: probably stash it somewhere in my desk so that when I found it again I would have the same thrill again! (Well you SAID I couldn't buy scrapbook stuff, and I do LOVE finding money!)

FAVORITE SCRAP SUBJECT: everything that has to do with documenting how much I love my girls and watching them grow and learn. I know it is broad, but I can't one favorite! At their current age I like trying to catch them in a natural setting, when I get to see their faces but they are not cheesing it for the camera!

3 MONTHS ON A DESERT ISLAND...WHAT SUPPLIES: Bazzill cardstock, all of my QK (yep, it's one item, I checked!) and Removable Scotch Tape & Zig Glue Pen (again, one item, see above!)

PAPER HO OR DIE HO? I can't deny either allegation!

SALTY OR SWEET: all of the above...darn it!! chocolate covered pretzels are my weakness for sure!

STRAIGHT LINES OR RANDOMLY ASKEW: definitely straight and measured! I am working on breaking out though!

IF YOU COULD BE ONE PULBIC FIGURE FOR A DAY, WITH NO LASTING RAMIFICATIONS...WHO: This is tough, because I really like being me (quirks and all! :D) However, if I HAVE to answer I'd say the President...on a day off. I could explore the White House, eat good prepared by the Presidential Chef, take a trip on Air Force One, and find out what other privileges are given to the President. (However, I don't think I would like the Secret Service, so one day would be enough for me!)

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEAR/SHARE/ACCOMPLISH OVER THE NEXT 6 MONTHS: To have fun, make friends, learn a lot and help make Scrapy Land the most wonderful place on the internet! (Disney World may be the happiest place on Earth, but I can't visit IT everyday like I can Scrapy Land!)

Such fun answers from everyone. I always love asking a bunch of people the same question, and hearing all of the different answers. It's the sociology student in me, I think!

So Miss "EmBee" sent in several projects with her application, and then also did the Christmas Bonus Blox project. She's definitely loves a scrapbook page. And while her pages were usually an hour or two late {tee hee, true confessions here}, they have always been worth the wait.

Here are some of the pages she's sent me in the last few weeks ...

Holy cow - one bazillion dies, all lined up! Okay, not really, but what a cute "faux border". Sometimes people wonder what to do with 2x2 QK dies...and my first suggestion is always to line them up and make one solid page element out of them! GOOD STUFF! Here MB has used QK Trick-or-Treat, QK Witch Shoe, QK Ghost, QK Witch Hat, QK Candy Corn, QK Tombstone, QK Frankenstein, QK Dracula, QK Astronaut and QK Spider. As far as fonts go, she used Haunted, Oatmeal and Diesel.

This cutie-patootie page uses QK Handprint, QK Diesel, QK Monograms, QK School Bus and the QK Nesting Hearts. Such a fun page. Love how many letters and shapes she got worked into the page.

This was EmmBee's page for the first of the Christmas Bonus Blox...using QK Nesting Labels, QK Nesting Ornaments, Oatmeal and Jolly fonts...along with a few strings of lights from the Jolly Gift Set.

Here EmmBee used some scripty fonts that I can't quite identify at this late hour of the night {Thanks Randi! Randi says the fonts are QK Strawberry and Holiday} the cuter-than-cute Revolution Reindeer and the Santa Face.

Such good stuff from a full time Pharmacist! MB has been active on the blog for over a year, and has participated in almost every single Starting Blox. As have LOTS OF YOU. I completely admire that kind of scrappy-dedication!

I have to share one more fun photo that EmmBee sent me. I announced the Design Team on December 30th, and had only emailed the selected four about an hour before I posted the announcement on the blog. So EmmBee got the news while she was at work. She excitedly called her husband and then had to wait all day long until she could fully celebrate.

When she arrived home that night - this is what she drove up to...{click on the picture for an up-close-peek}

KA-UTE! Her daughters had completely decorated the driveway with chalky-love, and were waiting for her. If that isn't full-on family support I don't know what is!

Well that does it - all four of our "Fab Four". They will be working with me for the next 6 months to bring ideas, inspiration, tips and tricks, videos and blog posts and additional enabling. Consider yourself warned!

The second of our Scrapy Land Fab Four "L" duo. Lolly was yesterday, today I present you with Lara:

Lara snapped this picture in Washington - where she is STILL on winter holiday. {I'm jealous!} But I pried her away from her family long enough to answer the same questions the other girls have answered. Here goes:

NICKNAMES: I don't have any {oh, let's give her one girls...ideas?}

HOME TOWN: this time of year, Antarctica...otherwise known as Rockford, IL

FAMILY: husband Scott, my sweetie pie (Emily, 3) and my punkin' (Erika, 8)

STARTED SCRAPPIN': 1999 back in the day when all you could find was Mrs. Grossman's stickers, 5 colors of archival safe cardstock and Creative Memories albums.

EARLY BIRD OR NIGHT OWL: night owl, all the way (although it's getting a bit harder to get up in the morning!)

FAVORITE SCRAPBOOK SUPPLY: inks of all kinds...stamping, pens, sprays

ITALY OR THE CARIBBEAN: Italy...for it's art history and architecture, but I'd reeeealy love to see Alaska some day.

FAVORITE SCRAP SUBJECT: I typically scrapbook my girls...because they are just so darn cute (I'm not partial or anything!). But I really like to scrapbook everyday life subjects, right down to what I love to eat!

3 MONTHS ON A DESERT ISLAND...WHAT SUPPLIES: I'm assuming pictures aren't counted toward the three, because I could hardly scrapbook without them...as well as adhesive and paper and QK and {YES Lara, those count...now pick 3!}...okay, really...cardstock, my QuicKutz and all of my pens (Copics, American Crafts, Gels, etc.)

PAPER HO OR DIE HO? I'm a sucker for all things paper...I love the textures, patterns and smell of good paper!

SALTY OR SWEET: BOTH!...although I tend to lean toward the sweet side. But after sweet, don't ya need a little salty...and then after salty you just HAVE to have some sweet!

STRAIGHT LINES OR RANDOMLY ASKEW: I'm lost without my ruler!

IF YOU COULD BE ONE PUBLIC FIGURE FOR ONE DAY, WITH NO LASTING RAMIFICATIONS...WHO: I want to be Susan, so I can go to CHA...*wink, wink*...okay, really...Mickey Mouse. Everybody loves Mickey! Okay, honestly though, Chef Duff from Ace of Cakes. I've always thought it would be fun to do an over-the-top decorated cake!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN/SHARE/ACCOMPLISH OVER THE NEXT 6 MONTHS: To play well with other, not run with scissors...seriously...I hope to learn from the other women I have the honor to work with on the Fab Four. I want to inspire the blog readers to see other possibilities in the use of their scrap supplies. And what I'd REALLY like to accomplish is finishing up my 8 year old daughter's baby book. Finally!

So now we all know that Lara can't make a decision and hates to be interviewed! {LOL} Just kidding - she answered all of these questions with her mother and I'm pretty sure a fair amount of giggling took place!

Here are a few of the projects that Lara has sent me in the last 2 weeks. These are the things that caught my eye:

This re purposed scrapbook packaging just made me smile. Totally something I would do. Silly and whimsical and serves no practical purpose except for the fact that it's darn CUTE! {And cute matters ladies - don't ever forget it!} For this project, Lara used the smallest nesting square from Santa's Workshop set, the cupcake die from the Recipe Set and the QK Club Journaling Tag {which is out of stock, but this one would work just the same}.

{HEY Lara, what kind of goodies would fit into a re purposed QK package? Let's figure that out before Valentine's Day okay!}

Now these little goodies are just plain fun. Clothes Pin Magnets she calls them...and they just scream to be made over-and-over again, from season to season. Any 2x2 die would work, she used the ornament and the holly leaves from the Jolly Gift Set, the 2x2 Snowflake, and the 2x2 Penguin. Scraps of patterned paper and you've got a teacher gift, or a grandma gift, or a neighbor gift, or a husband gift...well, you get the idea. {I think we need a Lara-video with some pointers!}

You might recognize Lara's daughter, because we've seen her all year long in her Starting Blox pages. This sweet page reminded me just how good Lara is at mixing fonts. AND adding shizzle to her letters as well. Here is QK Diesel Grand, Metro SkinniMini, the Oatmeal font, QK Nesting Stars and the Scallop Border.

I have one other Lara project - but she just sent it to me last week. I'm saving it for a post all its own next week. She did it while in Washington and I am in love with the idea behind it. Here's a little sneaky-peek...

It's absolutely adorable and uses about 3,145 dies from the December QK Release. {Okay not really, but you know what I mean!} Prepare to be inspired!

Miss Lolly is grinning from ear-to-ear here, not only because she was asked to join the Scrapy Land Design Team, but also because she's modeling her spiffy new bracelet from her favorite sister! {did I say that right Lolly? LOL!}

I emailed Lolly the same questions that I asked Veronica yesterday. Here are the answers that will give you a little peek into that crafty head of hers!

NICKNAMES: LollyChops

HOME TOWN: Bedford, TX

FAMILY: One husband (Ron) and three dogs (Dog, Harriet and Charlotte - all girls). The chicks have him outnumbered! Muhahahahaha!

STARTED SCRAPPIN': 1.5 years ago. But in my defense, I was doing things with scrap supplies long before then...I just did not turn to the scrappy light until recently!

EARLY BIRD OR NIGHT OWL: Earliest bird there is. I get up when other people are going to bed. (Okay maybe not THAT early, but that's what my husband claims!) I start turning orange if I stay up after midnight. Staying up past 1 am has me sprouting leaves and anything after 3 am is a full blown "Lolly's a pumpkin patch" extravaganza.

FAVORITE SCRAPBOOK SUPPLY RIGHT NOW: Signo Broad White Gel Pen (greatest pen on the planet!)

ITALY OR THE CARIBBEAN: Italy (it's the Italian and Catholic in me!)

PAPER OR PLASTIC: Patterned, double-sided, textured paper...in teal. Of course!

COKE OR PEPSI: I don't actually drink soda, but I do drink cranberry juice mixed with water, by the gallon.

SCRAP-LIFTER: I am a total sketch lifter. I see a layout I like and sketch the ideas from it in my little sketch book (like the Blox that Susan does)...inspiration from others is some of the best stuff out there!

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU FOUND $100, OTHER THAN BUY SCRAP-SUPPLIES: What else is there to do with an extra $100 if not buy more scrap supplies? heh...kidding! Sorta! I would buy stuff to organize my scrap room. Since that's not technically scrap supplies I am thinking I can get away with this as my final answer. Right? Hello? Anyone there? {LOL}

FAVORITE SCRAP SUBJECT: my doggies and my family

3 MONTHS ON A DESERT ISLAND...WHAT 3 SUPPLIES: You mean product LINE, right? Not just a single product?!?!?!? GULP! My die cutter and ALL of my dies (that's one), 987 12"x 12" pieces of chipboard (that's two) and a giant box FULL of Signo Broad White Gel Pens (that's three)! I figure I can cut chipboard shapes and doodle all over them with my KILLER white pen. Now if I could bring one more thing it would be every color of Stickles ever made (again, that's just one). That way I could fill in all the doodles with some blingy-glittery-goodness!

PAPER HO OR DIE HO: Oh dear! You are asking the tough questions here...can I be a "paper-cutting-die-ho"?

SALTY OR SWEET: Sweet all the way! Dark chocolate is my crutch. And here is a tip: eat all sweet things in twos. Two kisses, two mini candy bars, two bags of M&Ms, etc...This keeps things balanced in the hinterlands region (a.k.a. HIPS).

STRAIGHT LINES OR RANDOMLY ASKEW: Mostly straight but I am trying to learn to skew as much as possible (but it's an organized skew really). I basically have to close my eyes and just go for it (no repositionable adhesives allowed in my craft room). Until I order the mega roll from Dani.

IF YOU COULD BE ONE PUBLIC FIGURE FOR ONE DAY, WITH NO LASTING RAMIFICATIONS...WHO: Harrison Ford. (So I could check myself out in a pair of hot guy jeans!)

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO LEARN/SHARE/ACCOMPLISH OVER THE NEXT 6 MONTHS: Learn: to relax and go with the flow. Share: new ideas for ways to use our beloved scrappy products! Accomplish: tons and tons and tons of beautifully finished projects!

This was the first picture that I opened in her email and it totally took my breath away. Gorgeous, fun, whimsical, colorful and practical! That's right up my alley! Lolly used a Sizzix die that is exclusive to another company, but seriously any single-shape-butterfly would work. Like this one, or this one or these.

Here is a cute home decor project - a die-cut embellished topiary. Totally doable with felt and your Sizzix flower dies. We are going to get Lolly in front of a camera pretty soon and maybe we'll convince her to do a Scrapy Land LIVE! video on this technique.

This little card just made me smile. Lots of layers of paper and fabric. Die-cuts and brads all joined together into cuteness. Spellbinders Nestabilities would be perfect here. Lots of sizes and lots of layering possibilities.

And finally, a page Lolly sent me last week for the Starting Blox Christmas Bonus Challenge. Cute, cute, cute! The little lime-green "nap time" title is the Santa's Workshop Gift Set font.

As you can see, Miss Lolly is going to add some awesome "non-scrapbook-page" interest to the blog. And for that...I am ecstatic.

Well hello! Happy New Year and welcome back to the Scrapy Land blog! Back from vacations, back from travels, back from family festivities.

I know I've been missing for a spell. But hey, I had enough people in my house over the holidays that we counted as a new town. Seriously, I thought the State of Arizona was going to come knocking for census information!

Needless to say, I was a tad busy - and recovery took a few days longer than I expected.

But I'm back! Rested, relaxed, refreshed and ready to rock the Scrapy Land blog.

And HEY - I have help now. And our ladies were chomping at the bit while I was still in company mode. They are anxious to scrap, they're ready for assignments, and they are drooling over the January QuicKutz release. Consider yourselves warned. {wink, wink!}

Here are a couple of my favorite projects Veronica sent in with her Design Team application:

I'm always impressed when someone can make random, look organized. Veronica is GREAT at it. Snippets of patterns, old fonts and new fonts, mixed-and-matched dies and it all comes together beautifully! Here she used QK Yogurt, QK Flirt {I think??} and her Silhouette SD to cut a vinyl mask for her distressing inks. LOVE IT!

Again, random looking so great! Paper and a bunch of die-cuts. I'm going to watch and learn from this one, that's for sure! More QK Yogurt, Nesting Labels, and several dies from the Relax Gift Set.

Miss Veronica also has mad coloring skills. She stamps and colors with the best of them. Under her cute stamped little girl she used QK Nesting Square Labels, Bead Border and Oatmeal.

So there you have it - one fourth of Scrapy Land's "Fab Four". I know you'll love Veronica's projects, her talents and her style. And hey - we'll learn a little Swedish together!

{Okay, type the names, but you know what I mean!}

This decision was not one we took lightly. Dani and I have been discussing "the team" for quite some time now. He had suggestions, I had suggestions. He had a vote, I had a vote. I cracked a joke, I'm sure he rolled his eyes. I asked for 14, he agreed to four {up from the "2 or 3" we originally were looking for}.

But the forty-two applications for the Scrapy Land Design Team were pondered for quite some time. We were searching for creative and fun, daring and bold. I was hoping for blog-versed and inventive as well.

Dani emailed me Tuesday afternoon with "the list". He agreed to make the final choice because he's good like that {thanks big guy!}. And now I get to share that list with the entire Scrapy Land audience.

These ladies are destined to become the best bunch of enablers and the most inspiring group of scrappers around. {Totally fitting for the #1 Independent Retailer of QuicKutz in the United States, don'tcha think?}

THERE'S ELECTRICITY IN THE AIR...

as decision time draws near.

So much electricity that it's making my ears ring.

{but it might also be Rock Band in the other room - I'm not 100% positive!}

Decision time is approaching - and it's not a situation I enjoy. It's difficult. It's all about good news and bad news. It's about feelings and emotions.

I'm talking about the 2010 Scrapy Land Design Team.

We received forty-two applications before the deadline. Which means forty-two sweet scrapbook pages, forty-two clever cards, forty-two pretty projects and forty-two outstanding other objects.

Good stuff. Great stuff in fact. Creative, cute, clever - adorable, unique and inspiring.

I have pictures printed, I have stacks in front of me. I have legal pad lists and highlighters sitting everywhere. I email Dani, and he emails me back. He shoots me a message later, and I secretly roll my eyes because he doesn't know what pop-dots are. {LOL}

I'm up to my eyeballs in great ideas but I've got to help cut the list down to a manageable stack soon.

A few emails have gone out with some clarification questions. A couple of messages have been sent with some requests. If you haven't heard from me yet...have no fear. Tonight I'm staying busy flipping through stacks of paper and pictures.

I am trying my best to have a "Design Team Announcement" blog post ready to go Wednesday. {Because some of us have big plans for New Year's Eve...wink, wink}. But that's a full day earlier than I had originally planned. Which means Dani might have a busy day ahead of him tomorrow!

If you applied - I thank you. It takes guts to put yourself out there in a competition like this. It takes courage, a certain kind of attitude and a bunch of self confidence. No matter what happens, please know that I admire that in people. Self confidence is a good thing.

In fact, it's a great thing!

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS...

when I have company.

I start laughing and playing games and cooking and baking. We start telling stories and taking pictures and running errands and watching movies.

Blog? What blog?

Scrapy who?

LOL!

But then the emails start coming in. What am I doing? What happened? Am I already on vacation? Are there going to be any last minute ideas?

And you know...ultimately I just can't stay away. Crafty enabling is in my blood!

So even though I promised you a Brenda and a Veronica post the other day - I am doing this on the fly. Meaning F-A-S-T. And uploading my own pictures this morning is faster than downloading theirs.

And I've gotten about a dozen emails about this project idea I mentioned, using the QK Air Freshener die.

So here ya go...a quickie post while my father and daughter are in charge of the sugar cookie situation in the kitchen.

You'll need the Cookie Cutter Air Freshener from the latest QK Travel Release, a sheet of the QK Double-Sided Adhesive Chipboard. {you could improvise and just layer several layers of cardstock glued together, but the chipboard works wonderfully because of the adhesive fronts and backs!}

You will also need green cardstock to cut out two shapes, a hunk of ribbon and a bottle of scented oil. {I am using the oil from Bath & Body Works this morning, but last night used some Lavender Essential Oil from the health food store.}

Cut out two of the air freshener shapes, and lay them just like I've shown here...one "front" and one "back". Expose the adhesive on the side that is up, on each tree. Keep both of your trees in front of yourself, sticky side up.

Place a couple of drops {or spill a small amount like I did!} of your oil on the sticky white side of the shape...and then sandwich the sticky sides together. So now both white sides should be "facing up" with the oil sandwiched in between. The very top and very bottom layer of your sandwich should not have the sticky exposed yet.

Cut two green, cardstock trees from your die. Expose the adhesive one side at a time, and cover it with your tree die-cut.

So from the very top to the very bottom your paper sandwich is like this: green cardstock, sticky white chipboard side, sticky grey chipboard side, essential oil drop, sticky white chipboard side, sticky grey chipboard side, green cardstock.

Cut yourself a white label with the included Cookie Cutter die, and label it with the fragrance of your essential oil. {and remember, your Removable Scotch Tape works PERFECTLY for writing on small pieces like this...just put your thumb and forefinger on the tape to write on the paper!}

All together now, you have a thick piece of paper that smells so nice! And the giggle in the whole thing is it's a pine tree shape - but it's not a pine tree fragrance.

Add a little bit of ink along the edges edges and a festive ribbon through the hole...and you're all done. {Remember to leave your ribbon loop nice and long. It has to fit around a rear-view mirror! I speak from experience - LOL}

We made up a BUNCH of these last weekend for my daughter's friends that drive. Cinnamon and clove for the boys - lavender and freesia for the girls. We used solid cardstock and fun cardstock weight patterned papers too. Each one went into a zip top bag and got tied to her Christmas cards. Such a cute and easy gift for teenage friends.

{And YES - my daughter gets full credit for this scrappy project. She thought of it as soon as I showed her the die a couple of weeks ago. Way to go girlie!}

I know - I still owe you some Starting Blox Week #35 projects. And I think I said I'd give you another Blox or for the holiday weekend. Now add Brenda's and Veronica's project to the I.O.U. list.

But between a garage sale and family members and Design Team entries that I'm still wading through - I have been one busy do-bee.

Oh yeah - and Christmas Eve is tomorrow!

Congratulations to Dani - for being named the #1 Independent QuicKutz Retailer In the United States for 2009! That's awesome.

All of us had a part in that {possibly to our spouse's chagrin!} which means WE ARE ALL kind of a big deal! Tell your family THAT at dinner tonight...and tell them "Susan said so!".

I have made new friends this year and I have learned new tricks. I have honed some skills and I have brushed up on my patience. I have completed over 200 scrapbook pages this year, and die-cut my way through more cardstock than I care to admit. Lord knows I have rolled my eyes a time or two, but I have always ended up with a smile on my face.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

how about a little pre-holiday ROAD TRIP?

{LOL}

Okay - not really. Too much to do to take a road trip right now. But instead of a real road trip - how about a die-cut road trip?

I'm talking about the QuicKutz December NEW release.

My dies arrived late this month. Really, really L-A-T-E! I'm talking 5 hours ago! So I don't have as many ideas for you as I normally do on release night. But I do have a few to share - and some size references. Seems like size questions is what I get the most of on "release day", so I thought I'd jump the gun and just put it out there. For some of the dies at least.

Some of my favorites!

The Cookie Cutter Billboard Sign Set is going to be oh-so-popular. For road trips, vacations, new cities, girls' weekends, boys' weekends, sightseeing...the list goes on! FUN STUFF. And it's huge, and versatile, and mix-and-matchable and customizable!

I think the License Plate and the new 4x8 License Plate Font are topping my "faves" list tonight. Love these! Of course it could be because I have a new driver in the house. But here - I'm teasing my daughter. I keep telling her this is what I'm going to order for her car for personalized plates. "I am cuter" {that's how our last name is pronounced}. She rolls her eyes at me, but you never know. I just might do it!

These huge Cookie Cutter Road Signs are awesome. I want to personalize them with phrases other than "YIELD" and "STOP"...just for fun!

And I love that the Cookie Cutter Park Signs come in two different sizes...all in the same package. And the best part? The man, woman, picnic table and tent are totally usable by themselves! HELLO - bonus material!

I can't even tell you the adorable project I started with this Air Freshener die - you're just going to have to wait. But know that you WILL see a need for this die once I show you a fun technique on the next Scrapy land LIVE!

I haven't even opened these dies yet - but wanted you all to know what a great size they are. Revolution Camper and Revolution Motor Home. The details are awesome on all of the vehicle dies this month - lots of uses and lots of flexibility!

The new Cookie Cutter Post Card is REAL LIFE SIZED! 4.25"x 6" - and it's wonderful. Even comes with its own postage!

The only page I got finished tonight was this one. Total road trip page for my mom to work on filling up next week. She is NOT a scrapbooker and loves projects like this where she just has to cut and paste. I used the NEW Scenery Border {which I find interesting that Jane chalked up to be a river and grass, and I saw it as a highway and embankments! So versatile!}, the Revolution Mini Van, License Plate font, the Cityscape Border and the Photo Frame border.

for Day Eleven!

Yep - you heard me, the ELEVENTH day. WOOT WOOT!

Totally a fun and versatile project - inspired by my friend in Illinois. She made me one of these this summer and I've held on to it ever since. I just knew it had "holiday inspiration" written all over it. Here it is - rubber bands, paper towels and inspiration all wrapped up in a bottle!

Supplies I used: QK Scallop border and QK Chemistry font.

Now obviously, you could go all out decorating these bottles. Die-cuts, bling, glitter and ribbons galore. But this one is for my son - so I decorated it accordingly!

{Now if I could figure out how to do this same project with a wine bottle...}

I finally got everything shut down last night and just left it. My entire system got five hours of much needed down time. Because this morning at 5:20 a.m. everything fired up perfectly!

I recorded this video earlier today and then proceeded to completely forget about it. That's what happens when I have a mammoth sized to-do list I guess. My apologies for the lateness of the post - once again.

Today is Day Nine ladies...

Day Nine? I can hardly believe it.

Today's video is all about the infamous "Scotch Tape Trick". Also lovingly referred to as "the STT". But today's tip has a little twist to it. That's right ladies, I took the tape to new levels today!

ENJOY!

That last little trick - wrapping your Scotch Tape around a cutting mat {or a trimmer, or a hunk of chipboard} is a HUGE help when you're trying to line up any font that is supposed to overlap. Trust me - a LIFE SAVER!

Try it and let me know what you think...I really think it'll change how you view and use your cursive/connected fonts!

Supplies used: Scotch Removable Tape {woo hoo - it's back in stock - grab it now because it sells out F-A-S-T!!}, QK Quick Stick {my second most-used tool}, Gingerbread Spine Set and Banana Split.

There were some emails last night concerning the Letterpress papers. There are several sizes of papers available - flat card fronts, folded cards and envelopes. Check the quantities per pack because there were a few that were labeled incorrectly. Some of the flat cards were noted as having only 10 pieces when they really have 25 pieces. So do check them out.

All of my coasters yesterday were cut from A2 Flat Card fronts. These are $6.99 at Scrapy Land and there are forty pieces in each pack. That makes each less than $.18 each. Partner a dozen coasters with a dozen Stem Markers/Wine Charms cut from scraps of patterned paper, and you have an adorable hostess gift for just over $2.00!

And you know me - it's all about the shizzle. Ribbon and paper and die-cut fonts make for great {inexpensive} shizzle this time of year. I hope you got an idea or two today about making that process easier.

Supplies used today include: QuicKutz Nesting Circles, Nestabilities Large Pinking Circles, Spellbinders Nestabilities, QK Embossing Snowflakes and Embossing Phrases and the Letterpress A2 Flat cards in white.

Obviously lots of possibilities with this idea...wine coasters, cocoa coasters, personalized, decorated, embossed, round and adorably wrapped. As far as glass markers, or wine glass charms go - the sky is the limit. Letterpress, embossed, die-cut embellished, blinged, stamped...you name it, it's possible.

I'll post some pictures on the message board tomorrow - or I'll just add them here. As for tonight, I'm a bit distracted. Hubs just came home and he's been gone for quite some time. I need to reintroduce him to the kids...and the dogs!

It's Monday, and we're on the downhill side of our journey...

WHEW!

Brenda did a fun little project, that I think kids would love helping you with. She is "shizzling" acrylic tags with her Epic, an embossing folder and her stash of Stickles.

Here are some photographs to help you get a better close-up peek.

She started with a boring ol' snowflake shape, {her Clear Scraps acrylic tags came this shape, she did NOT cut them}

And using this Embossing Folder she ran it through her Epic Six using the DARK GREY embossing platform.

Then from the de-bossed, or back side, she filled in the swirls with Stickles.

Here is one she took a step farther, by using Stickles to literally smear over the area that is the hat!

ATTENTION*WARNING*TAKE NOTICE*...The acrylic tags she used are from a company called "Clear Scraps". These tags are thin - just a bit thicker than the plastic from a QK package. This is flexible acrylic. It is not, I REPEAT NOT, the hard acrylic that is used for acrylic album pages. I do not want to get an email from someone who tried to force feed a rigid piece of acrylic into their Epic.

This is thin, flexible, acrylic. THIN I tell you!

In fact, if you can get your QK packaging die-cut into shapes {I go to my LSS and use their big steel ruled dies and their machines and it cuts like buttah!} this is a great way to recycle all of your packaging. I personally do not try to use my QK dies to die-cut my QK packaging. Too hard on the "blade" and a bit dulling, I fear...*WARNING OVER, THANK YOU!*

Now that we've established that you are not going to force your Epic to do something it wasn't meant to do - I hope you'll try this. I think kids would have a blast making up some package tags or ornaments for their friends. My daughter has already picked out the teal and black Stickles she is going to use for embossed snowflakes for her friends.

Dani has an AMAZING price for Stickles - the Distressed are only $2.25, the Glitters are only $1.75 and the Ices are $3.19. WOW-EE! If you're brand new to Stickles, any of the following would be great holiday colors...

Ruby Slippers {red}
Champagne {a gorgeous gold}
Silver {guess!}
Magenta {deep, dark red}
Lime {you saw this one coming}
Picket Fence {opaque white}
Pine Needles {dark evergreen}
Frosted Lace {love this one, icy clear}

This is a quick and easy project. I think I'm going to make up some wine bottle tags. The other great thing? MAILABLE! Love it!

Tonight, Sunday night, is Day Six...

A QuicKutz trick that has been around for a long time, but only if you've been scrappin' for a long time. If you're brand new to this hobby - then this is for you!

Here are the boots I made...showing you that you really can make a one-way die go both ways! {LOL}

A couple of reminders:

- Scrapy Land Design Team submissions are due on Friday the 18th. The stack is getting very high, and I'm so excited about what I'm seeing. This decision is going to be V-E-R-Y difficult! If you haven't finished up your projects yet, I hope you will. Wouldn't it be fun to have to expand the team, even before we started!??!?! {hang on, did you hear that thud? Dani just fainted!}

Today's issue of "12 QKVX"...

which includes the totally spontaneous, screaming moment where I broke my Epic. I could have edited it out, but I decided just to go with it. I'm just real like that. It happened, it was unplanned and no one got hurt. It's called life! {Actually it's called the-way-my-day-was-going...but that's another story completely!}

Today, bright and early, I showed everyone a cute idea that is oh-so-doable. No real measurements, no new skillz - just a new way to look at a boring ol' acrylic picture frame.

Check it out - Day Five in this crazy twelve day race to the middle of the month!

The dies I used today include: QK Ornament border, QK Disco font and QK Christmas Tree border.

I don't have a picture to post, because I haven't taken one yet. I've been a bit preoccupied today and 10:00 a.m. seems like a million years ago. But it's been an awesome day - start to finish!

A FRIDAY NIGHT...

Okay - here's the deal. I have a BUNCH of photos to add to this, and the video is awesome. If I do say so myself.

{And I do. Often.}

What I mean by this is - ideas are swimming around in my head, and have been all day. But that's nothing new of course. It's just that I have Stickles on the brain...and holiday ideas...and shizzling up the boring to make them sparkly!

It's just crazy!

However - QUITE A BIT is going on tonight. Winter Formal prep for tomorrow, Christmas party, meeting "the boyfriend" for dinner, packing up the boy for a weekend away, calls from QuicKutz, emails from Silhouette, a dog who decided a batting glove was a good snack this afternoon and we still haven't found red shoes!

So - for now - here is the video. After the video I'll post the pictures, but won't add links and words until later.

Seriously ladies - if you have a Silhouette and have some vinyl TRY THIS TODAY. It's so darn easy, and so stinkin' cute! You can put Stickles on anything. Literally...anything! {I just haven't ever tried to put Stickles through the laundry...so maybe think non-washable things!}

The sky is the limit! And THEN, can you image when the Silhouette Rhinestones arrive? OH-BE-STILL-MY-SHINY-LOVIN'-HEART! Jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, headbands, wraps, Converse, sweatpants...oh my head hurts!

This is my favorite today, because it's going on my car window. Crazy, I know. But I just love how it looks in person. Three layers of vinyl with some holly Stickles bling in the corner.

And this was the project I did live on the video. It dried beautifully. They look like little black pearls, I am just tickled!

So there - a way to survive until the real Silhouette Bling arrives. And a way to resize those Silhouette downloads to as big as you want them to be. Gotta love versatility!

What a great, LIVE! show today. We had six countries represented this afternoon {which kind of boggles my mind} and time zones from Hawaii to Florida checking in. WOW! Thank you Scrapy Land. Your enthusiasm always makes me smile!

Today I resurrected the "Pop-Up" card that I taught during our Virtual Crop a month ago. I think I figured out a few ways to make it easier to understand.

At least I hope I did.

In its entirety - "12 VQKX Day Three"...

For this card I used my: Scor-Pal and the Revolution Lightbulbs. {I think one of these days I'll try and do an entire project with metric measurements...just to be fair to everyone. Because look - the Scor-Pal is now available in a Metric version!}

A very simple card design - that can accommodate almost any kind of die-cut embellishment. Look at some of the samples I've received...

From our friend from Sweden today...Veronica. She actually sent this to me the weekend of the Virtual Crop, but I've been holding on to it until now.

She and her boys made this for an "Earth Day" greetings. LOVE IT! She used the Scrapy Land Spaceman & Alien Exclusive and a bunch of different circles to mask off and chalk around for her planet, craters and sky.

Her little boys used the inside of the card for their signatures {don'tcha just love 3 and 5 year old signatures!!} and then look where she put her sentiment...

up top! All the times I've made a card like this and I've NEVER thought of doing this. Just goes to show - all you need is a new set of eyes on an old idea...and it's new all over again!

Then there's Shelly, who was busy making cards all day long. I know, because she kept sending me pictures of her fun finished projects.

Here she decorated her card "front flap" with a preprinted die-cut/sticker. She was amazed at how fast this went together.

She took the easy way out {just like I did for the SLVC sample!} and printed her sentiment from her computer. A great way to mass-produce several of these.

We have had other scrappers share their their cards too. Phyllis and Karen W. put their cards over on the Scrapy Land Message board, where we are trying to keep a running list of completed "12 VQKX" projects. {thanks again for your help Karen}

A great LIVE! show, and a fun little project. I hope you'll try one for yourself.

Friday's show will be a recorded version. I plan on filming it first thing in the morning. I can't wait to show you what I made - those of you who own a Silhouette are going to be VERY excited, I just know it.

And then Saturday's show...well, I can't even begin to tell you about Saturday's show. Nope - not even a hint yet. Not a peep out of me...no-sir-eeeee!

{cough cough - mainly because I haven't decided yet. But that'll be our little secret, okay? I've got it narrowed down at least, so that's a start}

A little lesson and demonstration on Glass Etching. If you've never tried this before the holiday season is the perfect time to jump in. A quick and easy technique for some inexpensive yet beautiful gifts.

If you want to work along - have a 6x12" hunk of double sided patterned paper and 2 coordinating hunks of cardstock, your Scor-Pal, a stapler and your favorite holiday 4x4 die! Oh - some adhesive would come in handy too.

a really big Monday follows a holiday. Doesn't it?

Call it "Cyber-Monday". Call it "Dani just released four new, amazing QK Exclusives". Call it "Susan doesn't know which way is up". Call it "tomorrow is December! - what the heck?".

But it's a doozie, that's for sure! Let's get started!

#1 - It's Finished It Friday, even though it's Monday.

I promised - so here goes! Blox 34, only ten pages this past week, but that's okay. Ten awesome pages are done, documented and preserved! Way to go ladies, even in the face of impending turkey eating, you still managed to crank out a few pages! CONGRATS!

Super job everyone - thanks for participating last week and thanks, as always, for sharing with us! I love that you like sharing your pages with your fellow blog-readers. And I'm flattered that you enjoy my Blox enough to include them in your scrapbooks. Thank you!

#2 - Scrapy Land Starting Blox #35. WOW - week thirty-five! Let's finish this month with a bang scrappers...I dare you!

You know how I like gettin' several pictures on a page, so here's a take with three that are similarly sized. Two are 3.5"x 5" and one is a bit larger at 4"x 6". Three spots of embellies or die-cuts and three areas for pieces of borders. Don't have a border that fits with your theme? Make a border by lining up small die-cuts and making your own border element!

Here is my take on this Blox...

I used the QK Arrows border die, and actually used it to point out areas in my photos. I accented those areas with a QK Nesting Circle and QK Nesting Flowers. Thought it worked perfectly for these photos. My title is made up of QK Banana Split and QK Chandelier - love these two together. I did my journaling with the QK Journaling (round) 4x4 die. It's perfect when you have patterned paper that you want to journal on!

It's up to you - use this Blox as a jumping-off point. See what your pictures and your mood dictates! These Blox will be due to me by Tuesday, December 8th at noon, MST.

#3 - Here is a picture of my calendar for December {keeping in mind that December doesn't start until tomorrow!}. Lots of stuff in the works, lot of events, lots to do and lots of scrappy goodness!

WOWZA - between company coming, blogs to post, Blox to create and a Design to Team to help find - there's not going to be time for much else.

Unless you noticed the first two weeks of the month. There's surely going to be time for...#4.

#4 - 12 VQKX!

That's right - twelve videos in twelve days. It's never been done on an on-line store's blog before, so we're breaking ground. If you want to part of the fun please note the times. I've tried my best to mix it up a bit to include our European viewers, our Australian viewers, our Hawaiian viewers, our Costa Rico viewers, our Puerto Rico viewers, and our Asian viewers. Lots of time zones to take into consideration - so I hope I've accommodated everyone. At least once.

Six shows will be LIVE!, six will be recorded. They will ALL go on the blog, eventually. They will ALL be taped. They will be short, fun, holiday-ish projects...some might simply be twists of old favorites. But I will do my darndest to stick to the schedule and not tweak it unless absolutely necessary!

I will send out emails the morning of the LIVE! shows, with a run down on the topic and a supply or two you might want to have handy. That's about as prepared as I'll likely be, so know that the recorded shows you can watch later, to work along with.

And finally, #5 - Scrapy Land Design Team submissions are still due on Decmeber 18th. We have received almost twenty entries - which means I'm most grateful that Dani is making the final decisions. WOW-IEE!! After peeking at the entries that have already come in, my reminder is this...re-read the requirements and send in those items. Nothing more, and nothing less please. This is going to be a tough decision, and I'm dreading December 18th only because that means that waiting begins. GOOD LUCK, and for those that have already entered - THANKS!

My page for today is a deep one, a little heady if you will. But if you read the quote, think about it, and digest it for just a second I hope you will understand what I've been getting at all week long.

Without the little, you can't have the big.

Unless you're thankful for your garbage disposal I don't believe you can be grateful for your home. Just think about it today. Trust me - it will hit you sometime this afternoon.

When you're appreciating your family and your loved ones you'll realize that it takes several small things to make up a larger one.

These little tiny blueberries captured in my Aunt's hand made my daughter this past summer take notice of the big picture. Out of 1,472 pictures she took - this is her favorite. It makes her appreciate home, family and love.

Crazy - but true!

about the Letterpress, one would think I'd be grateful for technology today.

But late last night my track-ball decided to call it quits. Which leaves me currently anti gadgets, software and non-working peripherals right now. Trust me!

So boo-yah on technology today - instead let's focus on...

Between the Scrapy Land message boards, the comments or on Facebook - I've loved hearing all of the things you're grateful for. The little things, the serious things, the funny things and the trivial things. Because luckily - we're allowed to be thankful for all of them!

Today, my page is kind of a mixture - big and little, important and trivial all combined into one page...

I have an obsession with taking pictures out of plane windows. I literally have dozens and dozens of pictures that look about like this one. But I keep doing it - and they usually end up on a page about like this. They are all in my travel album. But this one is a little different, because I didn't journal about the city - I journaled about travel itself. For that, I am thankful.

Loved how easily I could add a hotel key and a restaurant business card and some journaling by using the Holiday Gift Set album pages. They're not just for mini albums anymore! {LOL}

Today - I challenge you to snap a picture of something on your "gratitude" list. A person, a place, a thing - you decide. But then do a scrapbook page about it. I dare you!

If you watched the Letterpress show last night - THANK YOU! Eighty-some ladies tuned in to see and hear and learn about the awesome new Letterpress tool!

This is the scrapbook page I showed during the show...using Hot Pink Ink, Bright Green Ink and Silver Ink, as well as the Everyday 5 Plate, Celebration 1 Plate and the Holiday 3 Plate. I cut my shapes from the QK Nesting Ornaments and the Revolution Photo Corners 2.

Here is a close-up, trying to show you how gorgeous the Silver Ink is. I just love it!

This is a peek at the card I showed last night as well...

I Letterpressed the large damask shape from the Everyday 5 Plate {love this 5 plate so much!} and die-cut and embossed it with my Spellbinders Labels Three Nestabilities. One big "diamond" in the middle of the image was all the polish this card needed.

The project "we" did during the show was this...

I used a flourish from the Wedding 1 Plate and my initials from the Everyday 4 Plate, all done with Orange Ink on the Letterpress Square Flat cards.

GOOD STUFF. If you missed the show - grab a cup of coffee and turn up the volume {because then you can hear my kids arguing in the background - and it's comical!}

A quick recap of "Susan's L-Tips" from the video...
1. Use the uber-cool Letterpress packaging as your storage containers.
2. Trim your Adhesive Sheets as you need them, and you don't need to cover the entire surface.
3. Store your Paper Placement Guides in a CD case that you've lined with adhesive.
4. Saw at least half of your package of Cleaning Cloths in half.

You know me - always trying to let you in on some tips, and save you a few bucks along the way. {saving bucks on cleaning cloths and placement guides means you can buy more Printing Plates!}

WHEW - we're almost done ladies, I promise!

And finally - I got an email last night from someone who noticed a shadow on my journaling block and wanted to know what I'd done. I can't sneak anything by Scrapy Land LIVE! viewers now, can I?
